Show Me Your Craft Room Blog Hop

Hi! Welcome to another stop on the Show Me Your Craftroom Blog Hop!
If you are coming here from Kassidy you are headed in the right direction. If you want to start at the beginning please start at Susan's blog! This is Susan's first blog hop and I am so excited to be a part of it! (And to see everyone else's craft room too!)

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR MY CRICUT CRAFT ROOM'S 100 CARTRIDGE BLOG HOP PLEASE SCROLL DOWN!

Today is our chance to show off our craft rooms! This summer I was getting frustrated because I had everything in totes with lids and I always needed the tote that was on the bottom it seemed like.  I had a desk from the Container Store that was an amazing crafting space but I couldnt get to any of my stuff!

My crafting space is in half of our laundry room which is actually a walk through to the back door.  I saw a picture of a Workbox from the  Original Scrapbox in a magazine and hung it up on my wall as something I was going to start saving for (and I measured the room to make sure it would fit) so I could get my things more organized.

My husband must have gotten the hint that I wanted it because everytime I read a crafting magazine I would leave it open to that ad and leave it where I knew he would sit.  He ended up suprising me with the Work Box for our anniversary this summer. It took us awhile (ok a long while) to put it together and get it in the house but it is so worth it.  If I want to I can close it all up (but I never do because I am always using it)

Here is my craft room!
(Sorry about the walls, we are stripping them in order to paint this room PINK!)

My Twinery Twine collection!

Under the desk...

My friend Brittany gave me a Clip It Up Ribbon Organizer but I found that Cricut Cartridges fit in it perfectly and I can also hang my stamps on it! I love it so much!

I love my Work Box! It makes me stay (some what) organized if I put everything back where it belongs! LOL  The only thing that I wish was different is the desk. I wish it was longer because once I move my Cricut out there is not a lot of space to create!  Other than that I love it so much!  I am so greatful my husband bought it for me.  He is a keeper!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I will be giving away a Space Party Cricut Cartridge as blog candy.

Here is how you can enter: (you can have up to three entries)
1. Leave me a comment
2. Become a follower and leave me a comment (if you are already following just tell me that in a message)
3. Like The Original Scrapbox on Facebook and tell them that you saw their Work Box on my blog

http://hollys-hobbie.blogspot.com/  and then leave me a comment that you did this! (I dont get anything for this I just want them to know that I love their product!)

The next stop on the hop is my great friend Linda I cant wait to see her craftroom! Someday I am going to go there and craft with her!

If you get lost on the hop here is the lineup:

Happy Blog Hopping!

Love Always,

Holly

You Had Me at Craft Guest Designer Lala Palooza Featuring ME!!!

Today I am so excited to be a guest designer over at You Had Me At Craft!
EEEEK! I am freaking out over here, it is such an honor to be chosen!

At first when I was picked I was so excited but then I realized that I had to make something fantastic so I got a little worried! Now that I am done, I am just excited to share what I made!
I recently got the card Flower Shoppe and I love it but I had yet to open it up so I thought I would use it for my guest designer day!

For my project I had been looking everywhere for the green foam circle wreath that they sell in all the craft stores but I couldnt find any. I was discussing it with my friend Brittany and she came up with the idea to use packing paper!

This is the "wreath" that I made with packing paper and packing tape.

I then wrapped it in green tulle and Voila! I had a wreath. Then I cut about a million (this is an approximate number) flowers out from Flower Shoppe and hot glued them to the wreath. At this point I am not sure if the wreath got more glue or my hands. I got glue everywhere!

This is the end product!

This is my wreath hanging on the wall.
Because I used different sized flowers, the circle doesnt look circular but it is.

Close up of one flower.

Recipe:

Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge
Glue Gun
Misc Scrap Paper
Button
Twine from the Twinery
Packing Paper
Packing Tape
Tulle

I really hope that you enjoyed my project! I am just still over the moon about being a guest designer for Alex at You Had Me At Craft! She was one of the first blogs that I ever visited and I have been hooked ever since! She is one talented lady!

Thank you so much Alex for letting me be a part of your Lala Palooza! I hope that you are settled in your new home and are back to your fantastic creations soon!

I will be giving away a DCWV Advent Calendar Kit for blog candy - just in time for Christmas.  In order to win please leave a comment here and on Alex's blog. Winner will be chosen and announced here on Friday the 4th.

Love Always,

Holly

JME Creations Design Team Day! It's Halloween!

Today is Design Team Day at JME Creations and its Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I hope you have a Spooktacular Day!

This year is the first year that my boys have picked out their costumes and to my horror they picked superheros! Dont get me wrong superheros are fine, but the costumes look like they are wearing huge diapers! Anyways since I couldnt be involved in their costumes this year, I decided to make them cute treat buckets to stash some treats in and give to them on Halloween. We are going trick or treating with my cute nephew so I made him one too!

My Project:

I picked up two of these little boxes at Target for $.30 each today and already had the black star one.

I used Elegant Edges for the shape cut outs.

Aren't they adorable? I may be kind of biased but I love them!

Recipe:

Cricut Elegant Edges
K&Co Spooktacular Elements
Coordinations Cardstock Black, Green, Purple
Polka Dot Scrap Paper
ATG Gun
White Gel Pen

Dont forget to check out the other projects the girls on the design team made by visiting JME Creations

I hope that you have an amazing Halloween!

Operation Julie's Smile

Welcome to Holly's Hobbie and Operation Julie's Smile! Thanks for hopping along!
If you came here from Jess Larsen’s blog, then you are in the right spot.  If not, you may want to start from the beginning at the Sweet Stamp Shop’s blog and take your time.  You have ALL WEEKEND to hop with us and win some prizes. There are over $2500 worth of prizes up for grabs!

If you are not familiar with what Operation Julie's Smile is here is a quick recap....

"The creative blogging community is coming together this weekend to help one of our friends, Julie Ranae.  You may know her as the Design Team Coordinator for many wonderful companies from bakers twine, die cuts, rubberstamps and more.  What many people don’tknow about Julie Ranae is that she has had some pretty major dental surgeries in her lifetime due to medication she had to take as a child.  It was in her plans to think about having all of her teeth  replaced at some point inthe next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out.  But then it happened…she chipped her front teeth on a weekend a month ago. The dentist told her there was no way to save them & that it was his recommendation that she give in and have them all her teeth removed soon, but for that day, they needed to get her front teeth done so her gums could begin to heal. He said he would 'work out payments with her to have ALL this work done...but when she called to make her appt for the first step of impressions, they told her the amount of money that was needed and that the 'payments' applied only to the two teeth that were extracted that day. Her husband Paul was with her & that too, was his understanding as well. So this is how she has found herself in this situation…Needing at least $4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.

Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet StampShop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation and before Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight!
Because she is an event organizer by trade, she has taken on the job of organizing all of the blogs in this hop as her way of ‘working overtime’ for what she needs, the same as if she were able to work overtime at an outside job to pay for the work to be done."

I am so lucky to call Julie Ranae my friend. I first "met" her when I fell in love with the Twinery twine and it has been friendship every since. She is the busiest crafter that I know, with so much talent and love to share with everyone! No matter what I ask her, she always has advice and encouragement for me.  When I found out what had happened, I knew that I would do everything that I can to help!

Today I am sharing one of my new Christmas cards that I have been making.  I thought that if anything it would make Julie smile! I love the fun colors and of course added in some polka dots and my favorite an owl!  There is so much talent in this group of blog hop participants that instead of being overwhelmed, I just made something that I love.  For me that is what crafting is all about.

I love my little owl card!

My Cricut Craft Room Design Team - Theme Thursday -- Sweets and Treats

Today is Theme Thursday at My Cricut Craft Room!
Todays theme is Sweets and Treats.

Since I am the parent helper in my sons preschool for their Halloween party I thought I would make little treat bags to put snacks in for each child. I did this last year for my older sons class (but made monster treat bags) and they were a huge hit!

These are the ones that I am making this year!

I love these so much and they are so easy to fill with goodies for a Halloween party! I tried to make them as bright and fun as I could, as they are going to 3 year olds.  I have about another dozen to make by the end of the month!

Recipe:

Mini Monster Cricut Cartridge
My Minds Eye Blackbird and Boo To You Cardstock paper (love this paper)
My Minds Eye Ribbon
$1 Ribbon from Walmart
Recollections Boo Bling
ATG Gun
Glue Gun

I hope you have a great day! Dont forget to check out the rest of the Sweets and Treats projects at My Cricut Craft Room!  I cant wait to see what everyone makes!

Love Always,
Holly
