Someone got creative!

I remembered today as my two (almost three year old took a nap) seeing little elf ornaments in a magazine a couple years ago. I had run out and bought all the supplies and lost the picture and the instructions. The supplies have sat in a bag for at least two if not three years. I attempted to recreate it as I remember, it might not be right but it was amazing for me because I never make anything without instructions. Big day for me! Anyways I hope you like it. If I can get my husband on board, I think I will actually go to the craft store and get the right kind of beads. Got to go, Im sure Fisher will be waking soon and Hunter is finishing his millionth and one paper chain for the day so I will have to entertain him in a minute. Hope you like it, I will be making more and hope they will look better as I go. By the way he has pink glitter stickles for his cheeks!

Its Christmas Time!

I am so excited it is December, I havent posted for awhile because sometimes life just gets away from you especially at this time of the year. Jason was hunting for most of November giving me little to no time to craft. I just finished the bulletin boards at Hunters preschool again and plan on making treat bags for his class (which I should start on soon!) I am making a trip to Michaels soon so maybe I will be inspired. I just celebrated my birthday on the 2nd and I finally won a contest (well two LOL) I won Peechy Keen stamps from Paula More Than Favors (thank you!) and I won a contest from Oh My Crafts! It made for a wonderful birthday. My in laws got me Kindle book reader so I have been reading up a storm! Anyways here are a few pics of what I have been up to and a pic of the boys with Santa. I will be back to blog soon!

Treat Boxes

What a busy week! Preschool trip to the pumpkin patch, helping parent at school, our dog has salmonella and is at the vet (outcome unknown). Anyways as the helping parent I told Hunter I would make Monster treat boxes from the cartridge Mini Monsters. What an ordeal! They are so cute but so time consuming. I also have to take treats to the soccer game tomorrow so I made them for the team too! YIKES...

Anyways it took a long time but here are the treat bags. They are so cute. And they were a hit with his class! Totally worth it in the end.

The first pic is of the soccer teams' Monster treat bags. Again they arent all showing as one of the players will not be there.

The second pic is of my adorable boys at the pumpkin patch. If you want to see more I have tons on my Facebook page.

The last two pictures are of the treat bags for his class. I didnt take pictures of them all.

Hope you liked them.

Bulletin Boards

I have been so busy! My oldest son started preschool and soccer all in the same week. (I shed a few tears, ok a lot on his first day of preschool) So I have been busy for the past three weeks getting into a rhythm with school and practice. One of my jobs at his co-op preschool is to do the bulletin boards every other month. I got to pick the months I wanted so I picked Oct (Halloween), Dec (Christmas), Feb (Valentines Day) and April (?) thinking that I could use my Cricut to design them. Well it took me forever but I got it done for the month of Oct. YAY! So here are some pics from the finished project.

I just realized that I can only post 5 pics so I am going to post my favorites!

I used all Recollections plain colored paper and some scrap patterned paper to make all the critters, monsters and autumn themed items. I will post an album on my facebook of all the pictures since I cant put them all on here.

The first pic is of pumpkins from Stretch Your Imagination, the second and third picture are of creatures from Mini Monsters (one of my top three favorite cartridges right now) and the last two are of the owl from Create a Critter that I faux stitched with a white gel pen and all the critters from Create a Critter that I made and laid out on my carpet before actually taking them to the school! Enjoy!

Cute Birthday Card

Finally spending a couple of minutes updating my blog. Hunter is attending his first of many preschool friends birthday parties tomorrow. So I just made her a birthday card that goes along with her present. (My Littlest Pet Shop kittens)It should be a lot of fun as we have soccer and immediately following we have to drive over an hour to just make it on time for the birthday party. Hopefully Fisher gets a nap on the way there! So enjoy what I made, I hope you love it as much as I do.

I used: Create a Critter cartridge, scrap paper, American craft ribbon, Sharpie pen, Pink ATG gun, zig pen, Queen & Co Bon Bon embellishments

Finally Pink Cricut

I finally broke open my Pink Cricut! YAY! I have to do some bulletin boards next week for Hunters school and I wanted to make his teacher a card for making his transition into preschool an easy one. I am not finished with the bulletin board items and I will probably make way more than I need but its fun anyways. Can I just say that I love my Expression 10 times more than my baby Cricut? It is so much easier to use and I love being able to make bigger things! YAY! Ok here are my projects I will have to add what I used later because I am running around like my head is chopped off today. We are so busy. Can I just say that I love the card that I made for Hunters teacher, I dont think she did (another story) but I do... (On the inside it says "Wont keep me away") Sorry I am rambling, trying to get a million and one things done while Fisher takes a rest. BTW I cant get the pic of my Pink Cricut to rotate, I will fix it later!

Scrappy Jak Swap Project

I participated in a wonderful scrap swap with all my friends from Scrappy Jak and I put together a lovely collection of wonderful things for my swap partner who in return sent me nothing... So the lovely Melissa of Scrappy Jak sent me a box of the most wonderful things. If I wasnt getting ready for a consignment sale I would be crafting with it all right now... :) So here is a quick project I worked on today, I promise I will post more in the future. With Hunter starting preschool in a couple weeks and a big consignment sale the same week, I am slammed with stuff to do. Hope you like my card!

Products used:

No Cricut this time- can you believe it?

Owl stamp from I Cling (sent to me from Melissa)
You are always so thoughtful sentiment from Anyone Can Stamp set (Michaels clearance)
Polka a dot scrap paper
Martha Stewart border punch
Thank you ribbon from American Crafts ($1 section at Michaels)
Flower brad from Making Memories (thank you Melissa)
Flower from Melissa

Again, Melissa thank you for stepping up when my swap partner didnt, I really appreciate it. I will post more things that I make as I have time... Thanks for the fun swap!

Lots of Love, Holly

Congrats Card!

Yes it is midnight and I am still up... But that just gives me time to craft! My husbands brother just graduated from High School and we are going to a party tomorrow to celebrate his graduation and to say goodbye because he is heading to college soon. So tonight I made him a card using the cartridges Everyday Paper Dolls and Beyond Birthdays. This isnt my best card but I am really tired, hopefully he likes it as much as any teen boy would like a card... :)

I used scrap brown, blue, yellow and dark blue. The polka dotted paper is from Dcwv Flower Shower Spring Stack. Ribbon is from American Crafts Premium Ribbon ($1 at Michaels) I also used a tape runner and a white gel pen.

Hope you like it! Good night or good morning, whatever it is!

Happy Birthday Jackson Card

We are going to a birthday party this weekend and since I have been using Mini Monsters, I thought this would be perfect for a 5 year old boy. I hurried and made this while Fisher was asleep so its not perfect like I would like it to be. Blue paper and patterned octopus paper are both from Cricut cardstock (celebrations and basic pack) The ribbon is from the dollar section at Target. The green polka dotted paper is from DCWV Flower Shower Spring Stack. The happy birthday sentiment is from the Cricut Cartridge Sweet Treats. I used a Marth Stewart punch but cut off the part that made it look like lace. I also used an adhesive runner to glue and a white gel pen to embellish everything.

Hope he likes it! Love Holly

Mini Monsters Treat Bag

Ok so really quick project this morning. My Cricut mat and my adhesive were both not sticking today, making it difficult to finish my project. Plus Fisher was trying to bite it... LOL I made this treat bag to see what it looks like. I am going to add faux stitching to it when the glue dries. I am going to make 20 of them for my sons preschool class for Halloween. Now I just need some cute ribbon for a handle and I will write each kids name on the belly of the monster. I think I love this cartridge as much as Create a Critter which says a lot. Now I just need to lose 5.8 more lbs and I can open my PINK CRICUT EXPRESSION and I can make a bigger treat bag for the teacher. I used Cricut basic cardstock and some red scrap for the eye. My glue made me so mad and is not sticking so I am not even going to mention it.

Halloween Challenge ~ More Than Favors/Pink Stamper

My Facebook friend, More Than Favors (that is not actually her name), has a Wacky Wednesday Challenge and the theme is Halloween. Also My Pink Stamper has a challenge of sorts that is animal or critter themed (this I would consider a critter, right?) This is what I made using the Mini Monsters Cartridge (monster, Boo) and B is for Boy (peek a)I used paper from the Green Stack, scrap red, black and green pieces and the patterned green on the monster is from Cricuts Celebration paper pad. I also used a white gel pen for the faux stitching and the embellishment of the BOO! (BTW in the finished product I actually did embellish the rest of the exclamation mark) Hope you like it! The inside will either read "We need to see you" or to go with the Halloween theme "we're dying to see you"

Also I havent crafted for about two weeks and it felt so good to finally be crafty!

Finally My Craftiness Emerges

So this card was a challenge for many reasons. I love how it turned out but I cant take a decent photo of it. The elephant is from the Paisley cartridge. I ran out of glue half way through and tried a new glue which made the green base paper all bumpy. I doubt I will send this card out because of that but that is ok, because I love it. The sentiment stamped on it says Just for You. I tried to take a picture of it but it didnt turn out that great. Hope you like it!

Cartridge: Paisley
Cardstock: Green Stack (ears, tail), basic Cricut cardstock (pink, blue, maroon), Flower Shower Spring Stack (base green paper and printed heart paper)
Ribbon: Yards of Love by Cosmo Cricket
Stamp: "Just for You" Anyone Can Stamp collection from Hero Arts

Getting Ready to Lose Weight

I started my weight loss challenge #2 last Tuesday and I am so excited. I have already lost 35 lbs and have about 15 more to go. Anyways one of our first challenges was to decorate our folder for the team challenge. The theme this challenge is freedom; freedom from the extra weight we are carrying around. I cant take a good picture of my folder because the star paper is so reflective and I didnt have navy paper for our team name "Shrinky Dinks" but I used a white gel pen to make the letters stand out. It was the first time I used acrylic stamps (Stampology alphabet set) and I lost one so I had to improvise turning a L into a 1. I wish I could show you how cute it is, but pictures do not do it justice. I also used a cute quote I found on a half used sheet of sayings that I picked up at a garage sale. It says "Take Pride in how far you've come, have Faith in how far you can go." This is going to help me stay strong in my way of eating and realize that I have come a long ways, but I can continue on and reach my goal weight.

I will post the products I used in a little while. And a picture of the letters once I used a white gel pen on them.

My First Scrapbook Page!

There is a summer icecream challenge online so I was moved to create my first SCRAPBOOK page. I want to begin scrapbooking but didnt know where to begin. So this is what I came up with. I hope it wins because the winner gets 10 new Cricut cartridges! So fun! I used pictures of Fisher at 6-8months and Hunter at 2 years. Since Fisher is allergic to milk, we dont have any pictures of them both eating ice cream so I just chose pictures of when I thought they were at their sweetest!

How I made the page;

Base Cardstock: Martha Stewart Create Botanicals
Cricut Cartridges: Create A Critter (sun) Sweet Treats (ice cream cones)
Embellishments: Heidi Grace Designs Embossed Frames (round- picked up at a garage sale)
Infuse Sweet Meat Mini Monograms Letters (garage sale find) (summer)
K-ology Chipboard Letters (one)
Martha Stewart Create Chipboard Alphabet (Sweet)
Martha Stewart Create Glitter; tourmaline, peridot, lapis lazuli
The Sweet Life Cardstock Embellishments (Life is Sweet)

Cardstock: The Paper Company botanical cardstock pink
Cricut cardstock: brown, green, blue
Martha Stewart Create Botanical Cardstock

Punches: Martha Stewart doily lace punch

And a little genius of my own! :) Enjoy!

Sucess! I finally used my Cricut!

Finally! I got the chance to use my Cricut last night and I challenged myself to use all scraps to make this card. I had a bunch of scraps sitting around so I used them up. I also practiced awhile using one of my new Martha Stewart punches. (Doily Lace) Hope you like it, my Cricut needs its blade replaced so the owls eyes are a bit wonky. The card kind of has a bit much going on but I thought it went along with the saying "You're a hoot" Enjoy!

Cartridge: Cricut Lite Hoot N Holler

Cardstock: solid colors Cricut cardstock leftovers

patterned paper SEI playday cardstock

ribbon: Dashes Dots & Checks from Michaels

white craft pen

Happy Anniversary! 7/5/10

Yesterday was my husband and my anniversary but we really went out on Saturday instead. So on our anniversary we went on a hike with my husbands parents and some family friends. The hike was about 2 hours from our house and was 8 miles long. On the hike there were 10 different waterfalls you could see, walk under some and behind others. It was breathtaking! We did take our 4 year old and 2 year old so while hiking for the first time in a long time, I either had to carry him in a backpack on my back, carry all our stuff in another backpack or carry my 4 year old. I was exhausted when it was over with and I can barely move but it was worth it! While on the hike I was reminded how beautiful this Earth is and how wonderful God made it. It was amazing how beautiful nature can be and I realized how much I take for granted. Anyways I am going to share a couple pictures of our journey with me and my family. (Pictures were taken by my mother in law Marie since I forgot our camera in the car)

Sunday, July 4, 2010

I tried making a card today but it ended in a glue fiasco. Mix that with one of my kids getting dirt everywhere and it turned into a mess more than anything creative. I did want to blog something so since it is the Fourth of July I made a patriotic pizza. Now I didnt put cheese on my pizza since one of my sons is allergic to milk but if you wanted to make it, you could always put the cheese down on top of the sauce before putting the "stripes" on. Anyways have a great 4th of July and hopefully soon I will post something fantastic! Love Holly

My Pink Stamper Design Submission

I tried out for My Pink Stampers design team and I didnt make it but that is ok. I am just getting started and I am getting better the more I use my Cricut. I dont have a lot of time to craft like I would enjoy, but the time I do spend crafting makes me love it even more. So here is the card I submitted for the design team. I love it and had a lot of fun making it. I used the Create a Critter cartridge and will add what products I used to make the card in the morning.

Enjoy!

Color Challenge, My Pink Stamper

Today on MyPinkStamper.com there is a color challenge to make something using pink, orange, green and brown. This is the card I made today for my mother in laws birthday which is today. Happy Birthday Marie! I did a close up pic so you could see the colors I used. My Cricut was acting up so it didnt cut everything perfectly but I love how it turned out. Hopefully she loves it to.

I used the following products to make this card;

Martha Stewart Create Bright Paper Pad: green, brown
Cricut Cardstock: orange, pink
Me&My Big Ideas patterned paper
American Crafts Premium Ribbon

I also opened Sweet Treats and used it to make the birthday cake and the words.

Hope you like it!
I edited this and added stars to the bottom of the card...

New Room, My Baby is Growing UP

So I havent been crafting because my 4 year old is getting his own room with a new bunkbed so I have been cleaning, purging and getting ready for his new room. I will post pics as soon as I am done. I was going to do a Toy Story room but I think in 6 months, they will like something else. I ended up doing Pirates by Olive Kids but I am wishing that Cricut would do a Pirate cartridge. They do have an octupus on Create a Critter and one pirate boy on the Cricut Lite cartridge B is for Boy so I will try to make something with those. I do need the Toy Story cartridge but for some reason it is not available yet.

Anyways pictures to come but I am busy getting my sons "BIG BOY" room ready and he loves it!

Sunday, June 27, 2010

Sorry I havent posted anything new all weekend. I have been getting rid of things which is a big thing for me. I am cleaning house (and I went to garage sales Fri & Sat). Basically I am rearranging my boys rooms, changing out their closets since summer finally has decided to shine and rearranging my craft space. I promise I will post my card I submitted to My Pink Stamper to be on her design team tomorrow and I will try to make something new & cute! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Today is crazy and we have a play date so I am just going to update with a card I made a few weeks ago. (Today I will try to make something new)LOL I have a million cartridges just no time to do anything with them. To make this one, I used Cricut cardstock and made this card. For the background I also used cardstock from the Green Stack, courtesy of my sister Amy. I love raccoons and I think it turned out really cute!
